The Owner will receive bids for removal and replacement to improve the exterior lap siding, the weather barrier system below the siding, and the drainage of the small roof area below the existing exterior egress landing and stair at the existing Village Hall facility. The Work will include: selective demolition of exterior elements, masonry veneer modifications, furring for siding, composite decking, sheet waterproofing, weather barriers, fiber cement siding, aluminum reveal trim, membrane roofing, sloped rigid board insulation, sheet metal flashing, and joint sealants. Bids will be a single contract, stipulated sum. Sealed bids must be received in a sealed envelope addressed with the name of the Bidder, Owner, name of Contract: "Village Hall Siding & Egress Stair Improvements", and the date and time of the Bid. Two copies of the bids are required in the sealed envelope. A Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total Bid is required. This security deposit shall be in the form of a Cashier's Check or Certified Check payable without condition to Village or a Bid Bond in the form included in this Bid Package from a surety company licensed in the State of Illinois with a general rating of A and a financial size category of Class III or better in Best's Insurance Guide. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any errors, omissions or irregularities in the bids or the bidding procedure when, in the opinion of the Owner, such action will serve its best interests. Any bid which is not accompanied by the required bid security or by any other documents or certifications required by the Bidding Documents, and any bid which is in any way incomplete or irregular, is subject to rejection at the sole discretion of the Owner.
