Sealed bids are requested for the 2026 Lake Charles and Peterson Park Resurfacing project. Each bid must be submitted in a sealed, opaque envelope clearly marked with the project title and delivered to the Vernon Hills Park District. Bid documents are available on the District's website. The District reserves the right to waive technicalities, accept or reject any or all bids, and accept only portions of a bid. The contract will be awarded to the lowest, most responsible, and responsive bidder as determined by the District, which may consider the bidder's ability to provide sufficient experienced labor, financial capability, and past project performance. The work is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, and bids must account for prevailing wage requirements. All bids must be accompanied by a cashier's check or bid bond payable to the Vernon Hills Park District for 10% of the bid amount. The successful contractor must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including those regarding equal employment opportunity. Minority business firms are encouraged to submit bids and to be utilized as subcontractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction.
