As of January 26, 2026, bids received were rejected as they were over the budget. Project will rebid but no definite date yet. BIDS Community High School District 128 is accepting sealed bids for the 2026 Roofing Removal and Replacement Project at Vernon Hills High School utilizing fully adhered EPDM single-ply roofing. The project encompasses approximately 6000 square feet for the Base Bid with associated masonry work The Alternate Add 1 will include 9,800 square feet with an additional 14,900 square feet as Alternate Add 2. Event pre bid meeting description: Failure to attend and sign in at the pre-bid conference shall result in the rejection of any bids submitted by those non-attending Contractors. The company name registered at sign-in must be the same as that of the company submitting the quotations. This will be the only time that the Contractors will be escorted with full access to the project site(s). Bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check or cashier's check in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid shall be submitted with the bid. Performance, Labor and Material Payment Bonds and Certificate of Insurance will be required from the successful Bidder. All Bidders must comply with Illinois Revised Statutes, 1981, Chapter 48, Section 39s-1 through 39s-12, requiring the payment of prevailing wage rates to all laborers, workmen and mechanics working on publicly-funded projects. The Board of Education, Community High School District 128 reserves the right to reject any and all bids or parts thereof, to waive any irregularities or informalities in bidding procedures, and to award the contract in a manner best serving the interest of the School District.
