Separate sealed bids are requested for the construction of the Town of Carrollton DRA AL-9338 Waterline Upgrades Project. All bidders must possess a current State of Alabama General Contractor's License and must be registered with SAM.GOV. CONTRACT DESCRIPTION AND SCOPE OF WORK A. Work of the Carrollton Waterline Upgrades Project includes improvements to the Town of Carrollton’s drinking water distribution system to enhance system pressure, hydraulic efficiency, reliability, and overall resiliency, with a primary focus on central and southern areas of the Town experiencing significant pressure and volume losses. The work includes the replacement, upsizing, and extension of existing water mains using 2-inch and 6-inch SDR21 PVC piping to address inadequately sized infrastructure, reduce system deficiencies, and improve distribution performance. The project scope further includes the installation of new water main segments to improve system connectivity and provide additional routing and redundancy within the distribution network. Work also includes the installation of isolation (gate) valves, insertion valves, and tapping valves and sleeves to improve operational control, facilitate maintenance, and allow for effective leak isolation. Undersized and abandoned water mains shall be cut, capped, and abandoned as shown on the plans. Where required to minimize environmental impacts, including creek crossings, water mains shall be installed using horizontal directional drilling with SDR9 HDPE piping. Additional work includes the installation of flush stands at dead-end mains, service reconnections, utility crossings, surface restoration, and all related fittings, appurtenances, testing, disinfection, and commissioning necessary for a complete and operational water distribution system, as shown on the Contract Drawings and specified herein
