The work consists generally of the replacement of two submersible sewage grinder pumps, piping, valves, accessories, and controls in Pump Station #8. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check on a solvent bank or a bidder's bond issued by a surety company licensed in Tennessee, in the amount of five percent of the total bid price, as a guarantee to enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds as specified. Bids must also include a drug-free workplace affidavit if required. The successful bidder will be required to execute both a performance bond and a payment bond, each in the amount of 100 percent of the contract, issued by a surety company licensed in Tennessee and listed in the current "Companies Holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Companies" list. Each bidder must be a licensed contractor as required by Tennessee law, with the license number, expiration date, and classification shown on the outside of the envelope for the general contractor, electrical subcontractor, plumbing subcontractor, and mechanical subcontractor. Failure to provide this will result in the bid being returned unopened.
