The work to be done consists generally of: The construction of approximately 7,700 feet of 6-inch HDPE sanitary sewer force main including all necessary appurtenances. Drawings and specifications may be obtained from C2RL, Inc., Engineers, 240 W. Bessemer St., Alcoa, TN, 37701, for a deposit of $50.00 per set, nonrefundable. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities or technicalities therein. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Certified Check on a solvent bank or a Bidder's Bond issued by a Surety Company licensed to operate in the State of Tennessee, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the Bidder will enter into a contract and execute the Performance and Payment Bonds in the form and within the time specified. The successful Bidder(s) will be required to execute a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract, issued by a Surety Company licensed to operate in the State and shall be named in the current list of "Companies Holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Sureties on Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Companies" as published in Circular 570 (amended) by the Audit Staff Bureau of Accounts, U.S. Treasury Department. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than ten days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect. License number, expiration date, and license classification shall be shown on the outside of the envelope containing the bid of the General Contractor. The license number, expiration date, and license classification shall also be shown for the electrical subcontractor, plumbing subcontractor, and mechanical subcontractor. Failure to show these items on outside of envelope will result in bid being returned to Bidder unopened
