The city is seeking a consulting firm to develop final plans, specifications, and permitting support to gain Caltrans approval for bicycle and pedestrian improvements at Santa Rita Road, Hacienda Drive, and Hopyard Road overcrossings of I-580. The I-580 Overcrossings Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvement Plan was identified as a priority project in the City's Pedestrian and Bicycle Masterplan. The three overcrossings of I-580 are Santa Rita Road, Hacienda Drive, and Hopyard Road, and the improvements include continuous bikeways, protected bike lanes, sidewalk widening, new crosswalk locations, pavement striping, and high-visibility crosswalks (see attached conceptual plans - Attachment A).
