Demolition and site work for a water / sewer project in Waterloo, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
The proposed scope of work will include demolition of an existing water tower and site restoration. Bidders must be pre-qualified with Waterloo Utilities within the last year or must be pre-qualified for this work 5 days prior to the bid deadline in accordance with Section 66.0901 of the Wisconsin Statutes. Each bidder must deposit, with his bid, security in the amount of 5% of the maximum bid amount. Bidders must be experienced in water tower demolition. Waterloo Utilities reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities in any bid. Question Deadline 03/20/2026 Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda delivered to all registered plan holders. Questions received less than five days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. The work under this contract includes the demolition and removal of the existing Water Tower in the City of Waterloo, located off Squire St., to the east of St. Joseph School. Contractor will be responsible for all erosion control, stormwater management, and dewatering required for construction activities, site grading, landscaping, and any other work required to complete the project. The Water Tower has a 27.25 square foot base and 22 foot diameter. The height of the tower is approximately 105 feet. The structure is made of steel and is supported by 4 lattice legs. There is a fill pipe that extends from the ground to the bottom of the tank. It is not connected to the City Water System. Demolition will include the following major tasks: a. Demolition and removal of the existing Water Tank including proper disposal. It should be noted that there is lead paint on the exterior of the structure, as described in the Supplemental Document, that will need to be appropriately contained during demolition. b. All concrete on the site shall remain including the concrete foundations supporting the Water Tower. When removing the Water Tower lattice legs and stand pipe, the metal shall be cut flush with the top of concrete.
