PROJECT SCOPE: The City of Miramar is seeking bids from qualified contractors for the upgrade of nanofiltration trains 1 to 4 and associated work at the City's West Water Treatment Plant. The work includes, but is not limited to, replacing the aging 1.75 MGD nanofiltration trains 1 to 3 which were originally installed in the 90's, and a later installed 2.0 MGD nanofiltration train (train # 4) at the West Water Treatment Plant. The project would involve the replacement of the above four (4) old trains with 4 new 2.5 MGD nanofiltration trains, which would be treating raw water received from the Biscayne aquifer. The improvement also involves other plant upgrades as follows: 1. The CIP system is being replaced to accommodate the larger replacement trains and the other existing Nanofiltration and Reverse Osmosis trains. 2. Existing pretreatment cartridge filter housings will be replaced with larger units. 3. An additional bulk storage tank will be added to the sodium hypochlorite system, along with new metering pumps. 4. The two existing corrosion inhibitor bulk storage tanks will be upgraded in capacity. 5. The existing four transfer pumps will be upgraded. 6. A fourth degasifier will be added. A new bypass with chemical injection will be added to allow the City the capability to have the clearwell offline for maintenance, if needed, while continuing service.
