Renovation of a municipal facility in Rancho Cordova, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Contractor shall provide to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) all labor, tools, equipment, materials, supplies, parts, protective covering, incidentals, and travel necessary to remove and replace all existing vinyl composition tile (VCT) and baseboards on the 1st and the 2nd floor of the District 3 Transportation Management Center (TMC). Bidders must sign in (on the sheet provided) upon arrival and sign out upon completion of the walk-through activities. Failure to comply with these provisions may result in the rejection of your quote. an estimated value of greater than $5,000.00, but not more than $461,000.00 Question Deadline 03/20/2026 at 5:00 PM PT Written questions must include the individual's name, firm name, complete address, and must reference IFPQ No. 03A4101. Contractor shall remove and legally dispose of all existing VCT on the 1st and 2nd floors, including the kitchen, both entrances, and breezeway leading to the vending machines (see Attachment A, Floor Plans). Contactor shall replace it with new VCT flooring. B. Within five (5) business days of receiving the notice to proceed from Caltrans Contract Manager, Contractor shall begin work, unless given written approval by Caltrans Contract Manager. C. All materials to be installed shall be pre-approved by Caltrans Contract Manager prior to installation. Contractor shall remove existing VCT flooring on 1st and 2nd floor, along with all baseboards. VCT shall be measured as 12 inch by 12 inch (12" by 12"), which is the industry standard size for this type of flooring. E. Pre-Installation 1) Contractor shall remove and legally dispose of approximately 4,900 square feet (sq/ft) of existing VCT squares, and approximately 1,600 linear feet (LF) of rubber baseboards from the 1st and 2nd floors. 2) Contractor shall strip the existing VCT from the concrete floor of the 2nd floor and prepare the concrete floor by etching the concrete before replacing the tile. The 1st floor VCT shall be removed, the concrete floor cleaned, and then sealed with a water-based sealer to eliminate moisture from rising through the concrete floor. Any imperfections shall be leveled out prior to installing the new VCT. 3) Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and approved equipment to move the furniture in order to remove the existing VCT and install the new flooring. Contractor acknowledges that the utmost care shall be taken to prevent damage to the modular furniture, tables, cabinets, and other miscellaneous office furniture. If any of the office furniture or cabinets are damaged in any way, Contractor shall have it repaired or replaced by a furniture installer of the same manufacturer. 4) Contractor shall provide Caltrans Contract Manager a sample of the new VCT flooring and baseboard to ensure it is the same as or equivalent to the existing flooring prior to starting the project. All new flooring shall receive written approval by Caltrans Contract Manager prior to flooring purchase and installation. 5) The removal of existing flooring and new flooring installation shall be done in phases. Caltrans Contract Manager will tape off the work area without closing or eliminating egress for the Caltrans employees. 6) All surfaces to receive flooring shall be clean, dry, and in a condition to satisfactorily accept new adhesive, VCT and baseboards. Contractor shall notify the Caltrans Contract Manager in writing of any conditions which will prevent the Contractor from producing satisfactory finish work after preparation work is completed, per this Exhibit A Scope of Work. 7) Contractor shall avoid creating any tripping hazards and/or repair immediately. Contractor shall avoid creating distractions and/or noise on the dispatch floor while replacing the flooring. F. Modular Furniture Workstations 1) Contractors shall complete the work with the modular furniture in place. Contractor shall provide and utilize MSF lifting system. 2) Contractor shall lift modular furniture workstation panels a minimum of one-half inch (1/2") to allow for the removal and reinstallation of carpet. 3) Contractor shall troubleshoot and repair any issues that result after the modular workstation panels are lifted. 4) Contractor shall replace broken and/or damaged modular furniture parts and/or pieces resulting from lifting at Contractor's sole expense. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
