Renovation of a municipal facility in La Mirada, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The project includes furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and other incidental and appurtenant work necessary to satisfactorily complete the painting, preparation, and finishing of all specified exterior surfaces of La Mirada City Hall. The work must be performed in strict conformance with the contract documents, applicable regulations, and permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction. The quantities of work and materials are approximations and may vary at the discretion of the City Engineer. Bids must be submitted on the provided forms without unauthorized changes. Each bid must be accompanied by bid security in the form of a cash deposit, cashier's check, certified check, or Bidder's Bond in an amount not less than ten percent of the total bid submitted. Upon contract award, the contractor must provide performance and payment bonds each equal to the contract price. Bidders must have a valid Class C-33 Painting and Decorating Contractor's license and a current City business license. Five percent of any progress payment will be withheld as retention, with options for retention substitution according to Public Contract Code Section 22300. Requests to substitute equivalent items for brand or trade names must be made in writing at least ten calendar days before the bid submission deadline. The contract time is 15 working days, with liquidated damages of $800 per day for delay. Attendance at a mandatory pre-bid meeting site visit is required. All requests for information must be submitted in writing by the specified deadline. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities or informalities as deemed in its best interest.
