The project site is located at 111 W Baseline Rd, Lafayette, CO, 80026. Lafayette voters passed a ballot measure in 2025 to invest new property taxes in improvements to the BBRC, which will provide the funding for the design and construction of this project. Initial conceptual design and environmental engineering work has taken place for this project, allowing for exploration and visualization of potential layouts and configurations. Due to the footprint of the BBRC on the site and the spatial requirements of the essential aquatics expansion there are practical considerations that reduce the potential configurations. An energy audit has also been performed for the facility. The City of Lafeyette anticipates a Design-bid-Build approach with a contracted design and consulting firm and Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) approach to project delivery.
