The work for this project includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidental items necessary for the preservation of the Centre Avenue Bridge, which is a 'local use only' bridge carrying Centre Avenue over the Authority's East Busway in the City of Pittsburgh. Work items generally consist of, but are not limited to, concrete repairs, bearing replacement, structural steel repairs, and bridge painting. Each bidder is responsible for ensuring that their bid is received and time stamped by the Purchasing and Materials Management Department at or before the advertised time for submission. Bidders submitting bids via carriers such as FedEx, UPS, or USPS must immediately provide tracking information to the assigned contract specialist via e-mail and notify the assigned contract specialist with an e-mailed receipt upon delivery. Any bids received or time stamped after the advertised time shall be non-responsive and ineligible for award. Bidders should also make good faith efforts to ensure that certified Diverse Businesses have the maximum opportunity to compete for and perform contracts and should not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, age, disability, national origin, sexual origin, gender identity, or status as a parent in the award and performance of contracts. If aid is required to involve Diverse Businesses in the work, bidders are to contact the Authority's DB Representative. Questions regarding procedural matters or the bid documents must be directed to the specified contacts. A pre-bid conference and an optional pre-bid site tour are outlined for prospective bidders. Participation in the site tour is not mandatory but strongly recommended, and safety attire is required for attendance. Public opening of bids will take place at the specified time and place.
