The work to be completed consists of the sawcutting, removal, and replacement of sidewalk, curb and gutter, driveway approaches, and curb ramps at various locations within the City. The contractor will be notified of the work to be accomplished and it must be completed within thirty working days of the notice. The locations and square footage will be identified and reported to the City, which will issue work orders specifying the locations and scope for each job. The contractor is responsible, at their own expense, for hauling and disposing of all pavement, concrete, brick, dirt, and other excavated material at the City facility. Concrete for curbs, sidewalks, and related items must contain at least 564 pounds of cementitious material per cubic yard and be constructed with Class 2 aggregate base, compacted to specified densities. All new concrete work must match and conform to adjacent concrete and comply with ADA standards. The contractor is responsible for construction surveying, preservation of benchmarks and reference points, and restoration of any damaged utilities or property. All construction must conform to the City of Watsonville Public Improvement Standards and relevant state specifications. Work is to be performed Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, not including City holidays. Instructions to bidders include requirements for contractor licensing, prevailing wage compliance, insurance, registration with the Department of Industrial Relations, submission of bids electronically, responsibility for all permits and fees, inclusion of all pay items in the bid, and the furnishing of certified payroll records.
