Reference Number 0000415593 Bid Intent Not Available The project consists of rebuilding the West Airfield Diversion System (WADS), which manages DIW flows by collecting, storing, and treating the fluids from the west airfield before discharging to the Metro Wastewater Treatment facilities. The scope of work includes: (1) installation of a 14" discharge line to lift station #1 for additional capacity; (2) replacement of the system's pumps, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drive), actuators, valves; and gates; (3) installation of a WADS Lab and the Glycol Recycling Facility (GRF) backup power supply for redundancy; (4) installation of an upgraded Programmable Logic Controller(PLC) control system including Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) and communication line from WADS Lab to GRF; (5) enlargement of the pond capacity by 7 MG of storage and replace the liners, ballast tubes, concrete surfaces, pond level sensors ,and effluent pipes; (6) restoring the WADS' wet well to operational condition; (7) upgrading the Lab with a decontamination bathroom and install new doors and windows; (8) removal of the existing gravel access road and installation of an all-weather surface access; and (9) installation of a 2MG waste tank to collect glycol during deicing operations. Project's driving need is to support DEN's airline partners' operation during winter weather by maintaining the ability to treat and discharge waste Aircraft Deicing Fluid (AFD) that comply with environmental regulations and Denver Metro Water/Sanitation permits.
