Site work for a water / sewer project in Mendon, Vermont. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; and water / sewer project.
The project involves the installation of a new Dry Hydrant system on Woodward Road. The existing system has been deemed ineffectual and will be removed. The project is designed in two main phases: first, the excavation and removal of the current dry hydrant system; second, excavation of 120 feet of trench to bury 8-inch Schedule 80 PVC pipe at the same depth as the existing 40 feet of 8-inch Schedule 80 in the pond, centered through the property to the pond, and set at a depth of 20 feet. The pull-in width at the 6” Female NH Adapter with 90-degree elbow will be 25 feet, with a road frontage at the entrance of 58 feet. Required materials are listed and include various PVC pipes, couplings, an adapter, a strainer, a barrel, and plugs. Traffic control must comply with the 2009 MUTCD and road access must be maintained during construction. Bidders are required to attend a mandatory site visit. The contract will be awarded to the lowest qualified bidder, determined by the lowest bid price written in words and a satisfactory review of qualifications and references. Bidders must use the provided bid sheet and submit three references demonstrating relevant project experience. Minority and women-owned businesses are encouraged to bid. Bids can be hand delivered, emailed, or mailed to be received before the specified deadline.
