Site work and paving for a civil project in Mendon, Vermont. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; and road / highway.
Full depth reclamation, road base repair, culvert replacement, grading, resurfacing, ditch clean out, stone lining, and rebuilding shoulders. The project is located on Notch Rd in Mendon from the junction of Townline Rd. and Killington Ave. to the end of the paved road, the project length is approximately 1.1 miles. The project includes Full Depth Reclamation, Road Base Repair, Culvert Replacement, and Grading, Resurfacing, Ditch clean out & stone lining and rebuild shoulder. This project is partially covered by a Town Highway Class 2 Roadway Grant Program from VTrans . Material and billing invoices will need to be maintained and tracked. Phase one of the project is the full reclamation of Notch Rd. The pavement will be ground up, and the grindings will be taken to the town rec parking lot for staging. 9 new 24" culverts will be installed. The process is to excavate and remove & dispose of old culverts, prep site for installation of new culverts with compacted state spec 704.12B gravel, install culvert, backfill and compact to prepare for paving, followed by the grading of the subbase with 3/4 " state spec gravel 704.12B. There is 1500' of ditch line to be cleaned out and lined with 12 minus rip rap. There is also one ditch line totaling 100 ' in length will be cleared and paved. Phase two will be the repaving on the road surface and shoulder work. The paving will consist of a 2.5" HMA Base Type II and 1.5" top of HMA Type IV compacted. An RS1 bonding agent will be used for emulsion. A 10 ' transition joint will be used where paved roads come together. Driveways meeting the paved road will have a 2' apron. At a minimum one 10-ton roller will be utilized for compaction, with 3 passes. For every load of mix delivered, a slip shall be given to the town designee. Using the grindings from the reclamation, the shoulders of the road will be supported by the compacted grindings
