The project is located on Journeys End in Mendon from the US Route 4 entrance to the newly paved section, with an approximate project length of 0.77 miles. The paving will consist of a 2.5” overlay of HMA Type IV compacted to 2”. The VAOT 2011 Standard Specifications for construction as modified shall apply. All Federal, State and local laws apply. All construction will be in accordance with the Town of Mendon Highway Specifications Class 3 Roadway, the Agency of Transportation Standard D-33, and the Municipal Roads General Permit. Traffic Control must be in accordance with the 2009 MUTCD. The road must maintain access during construction. Bidder agrees to start work under this contract after the Notice to Proceed has been issued and that the Final Completion of the construction project is October 2nd, 2026. Minority and women-owned businesses are encouraged to submit a bid. Three references are required with demonstrated experience with like projects. Bids from qualified contractors will be accepted until 11:00 am on March 18th, 2026, at the Mendon Town Garage at 157 Park Lane, Mendon, VT 05701. Bids will be opened in the order received. Bids can be hand delivered, emailed or mailed to be received before the deadline. Please title the bid “Journeys End Paving Project.” The lowest qualified bidder will be determined by the lowest bid price written in words and upon satisfactory review of qualifications and references. Please use the bid sheet included in the invitation to bid along with supporting information that can be submitted with the bid sheet. A mandatory site visit will be conducted at 10:00 am on March 11th, 2026 at the project location on Journeys End, parking on the right side of the paved section of the road to maintain access to the end of the road.
