This RFP applies to and governs the preparation of Proposals for the Contract listed above. The Owner has an approved budget of up to $1,200,000.00 to complete the work. The Contract is generally for the following work: The Owner is undertaking a water system upgrade involving the following: Installation of approximately 900 meters of new 300mm Ductile Iron and High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) piping and abandon segments of 200 mm diameter aging asbestos cement water main. Installation of new water service connection pipe, hydrants, and mechanical fittings, with alignment adjustments along Red Road to connect to the existing infrastructure. Installation of new HDPE waterline segments at all roadway storm culvert crossings will be completed using HDPE pipe. Removal and disposal of all exposed interfering asbestos pipe. Pipe to be safely removed and disposed of in accordance with applicable permit requirements. Implementation and adherence to all environmental protection monitoring and measures, including preparation and adherence to a Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP). Full lane pavement restoration, including roadway milling and repaving to match existing asphalt conditions, followed by final line painting is included in this scope of work. The Owner is to supply some materials shown in the attachment Owner supplied Materials. The Contractor is responsible for all excavation, pipe installation, testing, and service connections, as well as temporary waterline and permanent pavement patching of the roadway. Temporary pavement patching must be maintained by the Contractor at all times until permanent pavement restoration is completed. All work activities must be carefully coordinated to minimize service disruptions and to avoid impacts on roadside ditches, culvert structures, and the travelling public.
