The City of Salem, Virginia, is requesting sealed bids from qualified and licensed Contractors for all labor, materials, and equipment needed for the excavation and construction of a new garage for the Salem Streets and General Maintenance Department located at 1228 Indiana Street, Salem, Virginia 24153, in accordance with Invitation to Bid (ITB) # 2026-019. See solicitation documents for any mandatory prebid/proposal conference or site visit and for details about public opening of responses. General Project Description: This proposed project consists of constructing a new, commercial, one-story utility building using a pre-engineered metal building system. The proposed structure's exterior finishes are metal panel siding and metal panel roofing. The proposed structure will be constructed on a new concrete foundation. The Base Bid shall include all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, travel, parts and materials necessary to construct the following: 5-Bay, Fully Insulated, 170' by 70' Metal Building prepared to receive ten (10) door openings and two (2) personnel doors. Please Note: The proposed building location is in a Flood Hazard Area. Optional Alternatives: Alternate 1: 5-Bay, Fully Insulated, 170' x 70' Metal Building With Entire Front Open and NO preparation for ten (10) door openings BUT prepared to receive two (2) personnel doors. Alternate 2: 4- Bay, Fully Insulated, 136' x 70' Metal Building Prepared To Receive eight (8) door openings and two (2) personnel doors. Alternate 3: 4- Bay, Fully Insulated, 136' x 70' Metal Building With Entire Front Open and NO preparation for eight (8) door openings BUT prepared to receive two (2) personnel doors.
