The University of Alberta is inviting firms with sufficient capacity and demonstrated experience to provide Hazardous Waste Disposal Services for the Department of Health, Safety and Environment. The scope covers the safe pick-up, shipment, and disposal of solvent wastes, aqueous waste, biohazardous waste, radioactive waste, high-risk chemical waste, and drum inventories from the Cloverbar Hazardous Waste Management Facility and University of Alberta Campuses (North Campus, South Campus, Campus Saint-Jean, and Enterprise Square in Edmonton, and Augustana Campus in Camrose). The project is separated into four scopes of work: Chemical, Biohazardous, Radioactive, and High-Risk Chemical. Proponents may submit proposals for any single scope or combination of scopes they are capable of providing. The University may award one or multiple contracts, and scopes of work may be awarded independently. Proponents must be authorized shippers licensed to carry Hazardous Waste Materials and comply with all applicable municipal, provincial, and federal legislation, codes, and standards. Proponents must provide evidence of facilities, methods, and any required approvals, certifications, or licenses for hazardous materials disposal. Instructions to bidders specify that the University assumes no obligation to guarantee any particular dollar expenditure, and that submission for one scope will not disadvantage proponents from consideration. Pricing must remain firm for the initial contract term.
