Security upgrades at the Parker Elementary School campus in Gainesville, Florida. It is anticipated that this project will start on June 3rd, 2026 and must be substantially complete on August 7th, 2026. The project consist of a new secure entry/exit point into the school campus during school hours. This includes a new attendance office and waiting area with sight lines for the resource officer to see and to respond if necessary. The renovation is within the existing footprint of the building. There is no change to the occupant load, building heights or areas and travel distances for egress are unchanged. The project also includes adding a new ADA ramp at the front entry point of the school campus. Enhance main entry security by redirecting visitor entry to main east entrance secure vestibule. An existing adjacent office was taken to create a new secure attendance office with new enclosed secretary casework and storefront window with a transaction tray will be added. A new interior window for the resource office to view into the new attendance office. A new ADA ramp added to the main east entrance along with providing a new accessible sidewalk at the existing HC parking.
