The project includes grading approximately 11.25 acres, construction of a stormwater detention pond, 16,564 square feet of 4-inch concrete path, and the removal and replacement of a HMA driveway. Only bid proposals that cover all the work will be accepted. Partial bids will not be accepted. Bid proposals must include sufficient data for evaluation, such as a list of three projects for government units of similar size, cost, and scope, completed in the past five years, with references (name, position, phone number, and if available, email address). Failure to supply this information will result in the bid being considered incomplete and withdrawn from consideration. This project is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Law. The contractor must not discriminate against employees and applicants based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin. The contract is available to minority and women contractors, and bidders must actively solicit minority and women subcontractors, maintaining records of their solicitation process. The project is also subject to the Public Construction Bond Act, 30 ILCS 550/1. The successful bidder must provide a performance and payment bond equal to the contract amount, in the required form and manner. A certified check or bank draft payable to the Village of Riverton, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value), or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to 10% of the total bid, must be submitted with each bid. The Village reserves the right to reject or accept any or all bids, any or all bid items, or to waive any informalities in the bidding and/or award process. Bids may be held for up to 30 days from the opening date for review and investigation of bidder qualifications prior to award.
