Reference Number 0000415957 The City of Medford Department of Parks, Recreation & Facilities is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to demolish the Jackson Park Municipal Pool located at 815 Summit Avenue in Medford. The project includes removal of the outdoor swimming pool, diving pool, childrens' wading pool, the concrete decking that surrounds the pools, the detached 500 SF restroom building west of the pool, and miscellaneous site and utility features associated with pool operations. The 2,500 SF Jackson Aquatic Building is to be protected and is not slated for demolition; however, removal of unnecessary furnishings and utilities within the building is included in the scope of work. Any clarifications or revisions will be addressed and issued in addenda; the City must receive requests for changes in writing per the timeline schedule in 2.1. Bonding Requirements - Bid Bond 100 % - Performance Bond 100 % - Surety Bond 10 % - Payment Bond 100 % The City may reject any bid not in compliance with all prescribed procedures and requirements and may reject for good cause any or all proposals upon a finding of the City that it is in the public interest to do so. The contractor shall demolish the pools and pool decking. The Jackson Aquatic Building structure shall not be included, and caution shall be taken to protect this structure. Any damage shall be the contractor's responsibility to repair. . The contractor shall remove and dispose of chain link fencing, post and associated gates around pool site per sheet D-1.00. . The contractor shall cut and cap the electrical conduit servicing the pool lighting and remove and dispose of 6 exterior light posts per sheet D-1.00. . The contractor shall demolish and haul away the wooden shed and CMU utility closure as shown on sheet D-1.00. . The contractor shall demo the swimming pool and diving pool according to geotechnical design recommendations outlined in the geotechnical design letter dated January 13, 2025, included as an attachment to this scope document, with the exception that 3-ft of the uppermost pool shall be demolished and removed rather than the recommended 2-ft. This is to accommodate underground piping for the future splash pad. . The contractor shall demolish 10,500 SF of concrete pool decking including the wading pool. All demoed concrete shall be removed from park property and properly disposed of off site. . The contractor shall demolish all existing pool-related underground utility piping located within the uppermost 3-ft of the existing pool structures.
