All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed in writing to the District. Questions received less than SEVEN (7) calendar days prior to the date for opening Bids may not be answered. The project consists of the removal and replacement of the concrete kindergarten play area surface, and minimal path of travel and accessibility improvements. All bids must be on the form provided. Bidders are required to possess an active and good standing State of California A License and/or B License at the time of bid opening and throughout the contract. Each bid must include a bid bond issued by an admitted surety insurer, cash, cashier's check, or certified check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price as security. The successful bidder will be required to provide a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond. Securities may be substituted for monies withheld to ensure performance under the contract. All workers must be paid not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages as set by the California Department of Industrial Relations. Both bidders and subcontractors must meet registration and qualification requirements as per California Labor Code sections 1725.5 and 1771.1. A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit is required. Bids will be awarded to the lowest responsive responsible bidder based on bid amount only. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive irregularities.
