Remodeling of a mixed-use development in San Mateo, California. Completed plans call for the remodel of a educational facility; and educational facility.
The project involves flooring replacement at Abbott Middle School, Beresford Elementary School, and George Hall Elementary School. The scope of work includes: moving all furniture in and out of rooms during pre/post construction and providing wall protection; demolishing and removing the existing carpet, VCT/LVT, and wall base; furnishing and installing new specified moisture barrier systems and proper floor preparation for all existing concrete subfloor areas receiving new flooring as per manufacturer specifications; filling all subfloor cracks with specified filler as per manufacturer specifications; furnishing and installing new wood underlayment in all areas receiving new flooring as per manufacturer specifications (portable modular classrooms only); and furnishing and installing new specified entry walk-off carpet tile, resilient plank flooring, resilient sheet flooring, top set coved wall base, and all related sundries and accessories. Bids must be submitted on the District's forms. Bidders must be prequalified and possess appropriate State of California contractor licenses. Bid security in the form of a bid bond, cash, cashier's check, or certified check in the amount of ten percent of the total bid price is required. The successful bidder must provide a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond, and may substitute securities for withheld monies as allowed by law. All workers must be paid no less than the prevailing wage. Attendance at one of two mandatory pre-bid meetings/site visits is required. The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and award the contract to the lowest responsive responsible bidder. Specified single-source materials must be used as indicated. Questions received less than SEVEN (7) calendar days prior to the date for opening Bids may not be answered. Questions received before 7th April 2026 may not be answered.
