Paving and renovation of a parking garage in Blackstone, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a parking garage.
This project is described as the restoration of the existing parking lot and loading dock in the building 2385 equipment storage compound located in the Fort Pickett Cantonment area. There is a mandatory pre-bid conference, with additional details and requirements to be found in the solicitation documents. Question Deadline 03/24/2026 at 4:00 PM ET Questions will be due by email to Marshall.d.hartless.nfg@army.mil SUMMARY OF WORK a. The equipment storage compound at building T2385 is +/- 27,200 SF of open storage area enclosed by a chain link fence around the perimeter and an additional chain link fence dividing the space into similar sized lots. b. The current condition of the entire area is fair. The purpose of this project is to remove vegetation, accumulated silt that has randomly contaminated the stone and to rebuild the existing "field expedient" loading dock. c. Contractor will supply, spread, grade, compact topping stone as needed. 1. Match existing contours 2. Grading equipment must be large enough to maintain smooth contours and elevation transitions 3. Compact the entire site after topping stone has been placed with a +/- 50 HP [min], smooth drum, vibratory roller. 4. Include 4" of VDOT #21B stone over the entire compound. Some areas will take more and some not as much. d. Loading Dock 1. Remove vegetation from all sides and driving surface 2. Remove contaminated stone 3. Replace pressure treated 6" x 12" headwall cap 4. Provide minimum 6" of VDOT #21B crushed stone on top / driving surface and 4" on each side. 5. Provide minimum 8" stone base on front side of dock (see attached)
