Reconstruct water main along Beverly Drive between New York Avenue and 92nd Street in Urbandale, Iowa. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and equipment required for installing approximately 1,100 Linear Feet of 8-inch PVC water main with associated valves, hydrants, fittings, and service lines as outlined in the bid documents. This includes removal and replacement of sidewalk, driveways, and composite pavement; erosion control, traffic control, utility exploration, finish grading, sod placement, and other miscellaneous items described in the bid documents. All work and materials shall comply with the proposed plans, specifications, and proposed form of contract now on file with the General Manager. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a corporate Surety Bond in an amount equal to 100% of its Contract price. The Bidder's security shall be in the amount fixed in the Instructions to Bidders and shall be in the form required by the bid documents. The Urbandale Water Utility reserves the right to defer acceptance of any bid for a period of sixty calendar days after receipt of bids, and no bid may be withdrawn during this period. Each successful Bidder will be required to guarantee the maintenance of the improvement for a period of four years from and after acceptance of the Contract. Minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against in consideration for an award.
