Refer to Section II of the specifications for a detailed list of the requested services. The City of Yucaipa (hereinafter referred to as the "City") is seeking proposals from experienced firms to provide building and safety services, which includes fire plan reviews and inspections, beginning July 1, 2026. The City is seeking a minimum contract commitment of three (3) years, with two (2) optional annual extensions for a total of five (5) years. The City is a contract City with a population of about 57,000 and an area of about 27 square miles. There are also 42 existing mobile home parks in the City with a total of approximately 4,300 spaces. Most of the building activity in the City is remodeling and reconstruction of single-family residences, although there is some new single family residential construction, new multifamily residential construction and new commercial/industrial permit and construction activity. Solar projects, re-roofing projects, residential pool projects, patio covers, etc. also make up a portion of the permit and plan check/review activity. Mobile home set-down permits and exterior structural improvement permits are also part of the Building & Safety Division permit and inspection activity. The Building & Safety Division also processes and plan checks/reviews grading plans, issues grading permits and inspects the related grading for all private building & safety permit projects.
