Electronic bids are solicited for furnishing all labor and materials for the 2026 Sidewalk Maintenance Project (Chardon Project No. 6-184). Bids must be submitted through Bid Express and must contain the name and address of every interested party. Each bid is to be accompanied by a 100% bid bond, 10% certified check, or 10% official bank check of the total bid, as a guarantee that a contract will be entered into if the bid is accepted. Bid security must be issued by a company licensed to issue bonds in Ohio. Evidence of experience with projects of similar size and complexity is required. The project must be completed by October 30, 2026. Contractors and subcontractors are required, to the extent practicable, to use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor, and comply with equal employment opportunity requirements. Prevailing wage rates for public improvements in Geauga County and the City of Chardon as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services must be observed. The city reserves rights to accept or reject bids, adjust quantities, and waive informalities. A “Declaration Regarding Material Assistance / NonAssistance to Terrorist Organization” must be signed by the successful bidder. Section 9.24 of the Ohio Revised Code prohibits awarding the contract to any party with an unresolved finding for recovery by the Auditor of State.
