Site work and paving for a road / highway in Lapeer, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

This is an HMA paving project involving hot mix asphalt surfacing at various locations in Lapeer County. May require construction experience with asphalt paving, traffic control, and coordination with utilities. The progress schedule submittal must include, as a minimum, the controlling work items for the completion of the project and the planned dates or work days that the work items will be the controlling operations. All contract dates including open to traffic, project completion, interim completion and any other controlling dates in the contract must be included in the progress schedule. After receiving Notice of Award, start work on or before the date approved by the Engineer. In no case, may any work be commenced prior to receipt of formal notice of award by Lapeer CRC. Once work begins Contractor shall complete all contract work within 3 weeks from start of each approved Project Location. The entire 2026 Paving Projects must be completed on or before the final project completion date of September 20, 2026 or date agreed upon with County Highway Engineer. Failure by the Contractor to meet final and/or any open to traffic dates will result in the assessment of liquidated damages. Contractor shall coordinate work with routine ongoing Projects by Lapeer CRC and MDOT. Unless specific pay items are provided in the contract any extra costs incurred by the Contractor due to cold-weather protection, winter grading, fuel, sufficient manpower and equipment necessary to maintain the schedule, and/or meet the final completion date, and any overtime will not be paid for separately, but will be included in payment of other contract items. No extensions of time will be allowed for increases in contract quantities or extra work, until it can be shown that such increases or extras affect the critical item of work. No extension of time will be granted for labor disputes, unless it can be shown that such disputes are industry wide and that the delay affects the critical item of work. No extension of time will be granted as a result of work stoppages ordered by Lapeer County Road Commission for Contractor non-compliance. No extensions of time will be granted for delays in delivery of critical materials, unless the delay can be shown to be industry wide and the delay affects the critical item of work. After award and prior to the start of work, the Contractor must attend a preconstruction meeting with the County Highway Engineer. The Engineer will determine the day, time and place for the preconstruction meeting. The meeting will be conducted after project award
