PCC/ Pavement Preservation, Resealing Joints in PCC Pavement & Bridge Decks, Patching PCC Pavement, Types 20, 21, 22, and 7-M Concrete Barrier - Permanent and Concrete Glare Screen, Concrete Side Barrier Types 2, 2A, 2B, & 2C, Concrete Side Barrier Types 7-C, 7-R, 7-T, 7-W, Concrete Side Barrier Types 6, 6A, 6B, & 6C, Traffic Control Detail for Lane Closure on Two-lane Highway Standard 9106 Traffic Control Detail for Lane Closure on Multi-lane Divided Hig This solicitation is being conducted by the Georgia Department of Transportation under its authority to procure services ancillary to the construction and maintenance of a public road (as defined in O.C.G.A 32-1-3 (24) as provided for in O.C.G.A 32-2-61 (c) and (d) (1) (D). Only contractors deemed as Qualified Contractors to provide Concrete and Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) Pavement Maintenance Services through the routine maintenance prequalification process are eligible to participate in this Invitation to Bid/Request for Quote. Through this ITB/RFQ, the Georgia Department of Transportation (hereinafter referenced as State Entity, Department, Agency, or GDOT) is seeking bids for PCC Slab Replacement. Location- MP 190-MP 187/ Monroe The Contractor will be required to perform prep work, removal, installation and cleanup for Concrete and Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) Pavement Rehabilitation Services defined in this ITB. The Contractor shall supply labor, equipment, tools, means of transportation, traffic control, and incidentals to perform work in accordance to specifications, and to ensure a safe work environment for employees and the traveling public within the time schedule specified. 1. Scope Work under this ITB consists of furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, means of transportation, and incidentals necessary to perform the services. Contractor must furnish equipment in good operating condition and operated by properly trained and qualified personnel. The Contractor must make a good faith effort to furnish the Department the fully operational equipment needed to perform Concrete and Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) Pavement Rehabilitation Services at such time, and at such location(s) as directed by the Engineer. Prior to start of work, Contractor must inspect equipment to ensure the equipment is fully operational for the performance of its intended purpose. The Contractor will also be responsible for any traffic control, licenses, and permits required to satisfy the duties required herein. When replacing PCC Slabs, the contractor is not allowed to remove the existing slab without being able to puor concrete within seven (7) calendar days of opening the road surface. . The Department reserves the right to modify existing provisions or include additional provisions, which are not currently addressed herein and further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive technicalities and in-formalities at its discretion. Deadline for Written Questions from Contractors 3/17/2026 2:00 PM Responses to Written Questions to Contractors 3/19/2026 5:00 PM Work under this contract consists of removing and replacing Portland Cement Concrete roadway slabs, as well as Spall Repair on SR 401(I-75) in Monroe County. The Project limits are from Mile Post 190 -187 Southbound on I-75. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, means of transportation and incidentals necessary to perform work. Attached is a map and a list of approximate quantities for estimating purposes only. It is the intent of this contract that all damaged slabs, cracks, spalls, and joints be repaired within the project limits. This project shall be bid per line item. A. Removal items: Existing slabs, spalls, and cracks wider than 1/2 inch shall be removed and disposed of by the Contractor daily. All dust and debris resulting from work on this contract shall be removed daily from any shoulders and roadway surfaces at no additional cost to the Department. All debris shall be removed from underneath guard rails to allow for positive drainage. B. Replacement slabs shall be constructed according to Pavement Details P-2. C. Slabs are estimated to be 12 inches in depth. D. The log has locations for Header Joints to be replaced at the bridge. Contractor shall include this cost in the same line item for Continuous Reinforced Concrete. E. Disturbance to the base below slabs shall be repaired properly at no cost to the Department. F. Spalls and cracks shall be repaired with a type IV fiber reinforced concrete material that is grey in color as per specifications and QPL 27. This work should follow Detail P-3. G. Use preform tape with contrast for striping. The contractor shall replace all striping and RPMs that are affected by the work. The contractor shall also remove and replace both the yellow and white edge lines for the entire project limits when completed with the repairs. This work shall be included in the bid item for traffic control. H. The contractor shall seal all joints made during this work. All bridge joints shall be sealed inside the project limits with like kind. I. The contractor shall fill all core holes with Fiber Reinforced Material that is Grey in color. J. All quantities attached are for estimating purposes only. The contractor shall verify all quantities onsite for bid purposes. K. Work shall be performed between 8:00 P.M. and 5:00 A.M. L. Contractor may request time restriction extensions for the approach slab replacement if needed. Contractor shall provide a traffic control plan and extension request 4 weeks prior to performing the work. M. Work times may be altered at the Engineer's discretion due to traffic volume. N. Any damage to signs, guardrail, or concrete structures (i.e. ditch paving, bridge decks, headwalls, etc.) shall be repaired at no additional cost to the Department. O. Any areas approved by the Department for the purpose of staging equipment and materials for the project shall be cleaned of all debris and trash. If soil is disturbed in these areas, the Contractor shall grade the areas smoothly to provide positive drainage and grass and mulch the area as directed by the Engineer before final payment is requested.
