The project consists of the following scope items: brick pointing, painting, concrete repair, and railing repair. The project will be bid and constructed as a Single Prime Lump Sum Contract with Add Alternate options that may be added at the Owner's discretion. Bidders must submit one Bid Bond in an amount equal to 10% of the proposed Contract Price for the work to be performed at 72 Central Avenue, but not to exceed twenty thousand dollars ($20,000). Bid proposals will be received from bidders who are registered with the Division of Revenue and Department of Labor, and who are classified by the Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC) as General Contractors with a DPMC Classification of C006, C008, or C009, or other special categories as may be required and as set forth in the Request for Proposals. Bid proposals must be submitted in sealed form and may be delivered by U.S. Mail, Federal Express, UPS, Courier, or Hand Delivery. Bidders are responsible for ensuring timely delivery; any proposal received after the specified date and time will be returned unopened. Prospective bidders are required to attend the mandatory Pre-Bid Conference #1 and, if scheduled, Pre-Bid Conference #2, in order to be eligible to submit a bid. These are the only opportunities for access to or photography of the site prior to the bid submission date. The list of attendees at the Pre-Bid Conference will be provided in an addendum. Bid documents will be available electronically via web link or email attachment for a fee of $25, payable by money order or bank check to North Star Academy Charter School of Newark, Inc. Contractors must comply with applicable affirmative action and equal employment opportunity requirements. The Owner reserves the right to cancel the procurement, reject any or all bids, and waive technical defects in documents submitted in response to the Request for Proposals.
