The project generally consists of removal and replacement of existing concrete sidewalk and concrete aprons along Edgewood Terrace and installation of new concrete sidewalk and concrete aprons, and replacement of curb ramps and belgian block curb along Maple Avenue and related work within the Borough of South Bound Brook, and all other associated work as contained in the Contract Documents or as ordered by the Engineer. Bid proposals shall be submitted in sealed envelopes addressed to the Mayor and Borough Council, with the envelope marked on the top right-hand side with the words "Public Bid," followed immediately by "SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS TO MAPLE AVENUE AND EDGEWOOD TERRACE (C.R. 610)," and beneath that "To be received on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 11:00 am." Bid envelopes should also include the name and address of the bidder on the bottom left-hand side. Bids delivered by mail or courier must also be placed in an outer envelope similarly marked, and addressed to the office of the Borough Clerk. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or cashier's check in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid, but not more than $20,000.00, as a guarantee that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will execute the contract and furnish a satisfactory performance bond within ten (10) days. A bid bond in the same amount may be substituted. Additional required documents include a Certificate (Consent of Surety) for the full amount of the bid, proof of business registration, and compliance certificates per New Jersey statutes. Contractors must comply with prevailing wage laws, public works contractor registration, and all safety and EEO requirements as specified. The Borough reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities, reject any or all bids, or award based on available funds. Three bids are required for HUD CDBG matching funds compliance; otherwise, the bid period may be extended for a second round.
