Demolition and renovation of a residential development in Harper, Kansas. Completed plans call civil work for a residential development.
The City of Harper is accepting sealed bids for the demolition of the dangerous structure located at 1912 Pine St., Harper, KS. The successful bidder will be responsible for the demolition and removal of the structure, foundation, and all other concrete on the lot except for city sidewalks, as well as the safe disconnection and capping of existing utilities where applicable. The successful bidder is responsible for following all applicable federal, state, and local laws related to demolition of structures. For a full list of requirements, bid documents can be picked up at City Hall or downloaded from the city’s website. All proposals must be sealed and clearly marked as specified. Demolition shall be the removal and disposal of the entire building, any outbuildings, concrete slabs other than City sidewalks or any other associated structures at such locations as designated by the City. NOTE: Contractor shall be responsible, at his own expense, for removing and disposing in the Harper County Landfill or other KDH&E approved landfill site, any and all materials. This shall include but not be limited to paint cans, carpet, furniture, appliances, and other household trash as designated by the City, unless authorized in writing by the City. 2. If required by the City prior to commencing work, the Contractor shall submit to the City a proposed method of operations for the removal and disposal of the structure(s). The schedule of coordination for shut-off, capping or discontinuation of utility services shall be submitted to the City. Utilities may be left intact only by written request to the City by the owner of record prior to commencing work on the project. 3. Structures to be demolished shall be vacated and discontinued from use or inhabitation prior to commencing work. The Contractor shall cease work immediately and report same to the City upon discovering either persons occupying the structure(s) for any reason or any other extenuating circumstances that would require action by the City or the owner before continuing demolition operations.
