Sealed bids are requested for the Robinson Middle School Fire Alarm Replacement project. Electronic copies of the documents may be obtained from Holston Engineering. Bidders may request these documents via email and print or copy them solely for bid preparation. Documents are also available for review at specified locations. All questions must be submitted in writing by the set deadline, and addendum items will be issued as needed. Minority and Women-Owned contractors are encouraged to participate. A bid bond or certified check for five percent of the total bid is required. The successful bidder must provide Performance and Payment Bonds equal to one hundred percent of the contract price. All bidders must be licensed contractors per the Contractors Licensing Act of 1994. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope with all required contractor and subcontractor license information. If no subcontractors are used, the envelope must state this. Submission of a signed bid certifies compliance with the Civil Rights Act of 1964. No bids may be withdrawn for sixty days after the closing time. All bids must be signed, sealed, and addressed to the Procurement Manager, City of Kingsport, and marked accordingly. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any bids, waive informality, and re-advertise as necessary.
