Renovation of a municipal facility in Newport News, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The purpose is to establish a contract with a qualified Contractor for all work and materials required to replace aging and outdated windows at the City's Justice Building, in accordance with the provided specifications. Only electronic responses via the designated procurement portal will be accepted. Question Submission Deadline:March 23, 2026, 1:00pm Questions regarding this Invitation for Bid (IFB) must be submitted in writing through the OpenGov Procurement Question/Answer Tab via the Citys e-Procurement portal The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. The work under this project is limited to the removal and replacement of the existing exterior metal framed window & glazing systems on the justice building, located at 2501 Washington avenue in Newport News. The building will need to remain occupied and operational during the course of construction. Therefore, the window replacement work will be performed in multiple phases. The existing building's existing classified occupancy, construction and building use type will not be modified and/or impacted by this proposed window replacement work (Existing - Unchanged). The general contractor shall coordinate work schedule (each phase and floor level) with owner to coordinate security requirements. The general contractor shall also coordinate work schedule (each phase and floor level) with owner to coordinate the removal and reinstallation of systems furniture. The general contractor shall complete each Phase which includes sub-phases (each phase includes each sub-phase (floor level) for that phase of the building) shall be fully completed prior to moving to next sub-phase (floor level) and/or overall phase. Refer to the contract drawings and specifications for additional information and related work requirements. Replacement of the existing windows with updated energy efficient windows and glazing.
