Requests for bids are being accepted for Hot Mix Asphalt Overlay on Smith Road in Precinct 1. RFP and specifications may be picked up at the Auditor's office at the Bowie County Courthouse. Sealed RFPs, labeled as such, must be received by 8:30 a.m. on Monday, April 13th, 2026. The County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals or part of any proposal in the best interest of the County. The proposed work generally consists of laying 2" . of compacted Hot Mix Asphalt . All work shall include materials , equipment , Labor , and incidentals necessary to complete the work . Bowie County is soliciting proposals for hot mix asphalt overlay . The basis of selection will be the lowest responsive bidder meeting all requirements of the bid package. The lowest responsive bidder will be required to provide completed project forms , bonds , evidence of insurance and execute a contract with Bowie County for all work . Additional Requirements The following is a brief partial list of additional requirements for this project : 1. Work is required on Smith Road to lay hot mix asphalt , including labor and materials . 2. Normal workdays will be Monday through Friday . Work on weekends shall be scheduled in advance with the County . 3. The work location for this section of Smith Road is approximately from where it meets Buchanan Road to where the stop line is marked on the road around the curve . A. This section of Smith Road dimensions is approximately 2250 ft . long by 20 ft . wide . 4. Proposed procedure for the laying of hot mix asphalt will be as follows : A. Lay 2" of compacted hot mix asphalt . 5. The selected bidder will be required to execute a standard contractual agreement with the County and provide bonds , certificates of insurance and forms as required by the contract . 6. Quantities are listed in the bid proposal . 7. All work , workmanship and materials will be in accordance with TxDOT Standards for Construction and Maintenance of Highways , Streets and Bridges 2014 Edition .
