Renovation of an educational facility in Alanson, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, the removal of the existing fire alarm system, the design of a new fire alarm system, and the installation of that system. Work required includes: - Design and CAD plan documentation for a new fire alarm system following the Michigan Fire Prevention Code, PA207, along with State Fire Safety Board fire safety rules. - Handling all permits and fees associated with the project (costs will be directly reimbursed from the district with no markup allowed). - Submittal to the State of Michigan Bureau of Fire Services for plan review and addressing all responses to state reviews required to complete the project. - Removal of existing equipment and devices as required; the existing system must remain operational until the new system is functional. - Supply and installation of the new fire alarm system, including devices and wiring; all conduit must be run in ceilings and walls whenever possible, and all visible conduits must be placed in wire mold with a color agreed upon by the district. - All items required for a complete fire alarm replacement, including new mechanical smoke detectors if required. - Final reviews and documentation required by the State of Michigan for building occupancy. - Training for district employees on the operation of the fire alarm system. - Contractors are responsible for repairing any and all damage to existing finishes due to construction within ten working days at their own expense. Bidders may inspect the site prior to submission to understand the requirements. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled, but attendance is not mandatory. Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope as described. The district reserves the right to accept or reject any proposals and to make an award in its best interest.
