Van Buren Public Schools will receive sealed bid proposals for Haggerty Elementary School Abatement and Building Demolition. Bids must be delivered by 1:00 p.m. on the specified date to Van Buren Public Schools, 555 W. Columbia, Belleville, MI 48111, Attention: Mr. James Williams, Director of Buildings and Grounds. Each proposal must be completed in full on the forms included in the RFP and sealed in an opaque envelope marked with the name of the bidder and the project name. No bids will be accepted at any other location or after the deadline. Bids must be accompanied by a bid security from a U.S. Treasury listed Surety Company or a cashier's check for at least five percent (5%) of the proposal sum, payable to Van Buren Public Schools. Proposals must remain firm for sixty (60) days. Oral, telephone, or fax bids will not be considered. Accepted bidders may be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Required documents to accompany bids include a sworn and notarized statement of familial relationships, a signed and notarized statement complying with the Iran Economic Sanctions Act of 2012, a signed and notarized Criminal Background Disclosure Affidavit, and a signed and notarized Non-Collusive Affidavit. The Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to award contracts other than to the low bidder, to waive irregularities or informalities, and to make awards as deemed in the best interest of the Owner.
