Renovation of an educational facility in San Rafael, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Sealed subcontractor bids are requested for the Glenwood Elementary School Multi-Purpose / Building D Renovation. Bids must be received in accordance with the contract documents and must be fully responsive to this invitation, the plans, and specifications. Contract documents are available for examination at the contractor's offices or online. The successful bidder must comply with labor codes regarding the payment of prevailing wages and apprenticeship or other training programs. The rates for holiday and overtime work must be at least time and one half. Bids cannot be withdrawn for sixty days after the bid opening date. Minority, women, and disabled veteran contractors are encouraged to submit bids. The project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the California Department of Industrial Relations. All bidders, contractors, and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations at the time of bid opening and at all relevant times, and proof of registration is required. The project is subject to the requirements of Assembly Bill 566 regarding Lease/Leaseback construction projects, particularly the Skilled and Trained Workforce and Apprenticeship requirements. Each bidder must have proper licensure from the California State Contractor's License Board at the time of the bid. The governing board has determined that the project is substantially complex and requires a retention amount of 10%. Instructions to bidders include submitting bids per the contract documents, notifying the contractor of intent to bid, and attending the job walk opportunity if interested. Subcontractors are strongly encouraged to notify the contractor of their intent to bid.
