New construction of an educational facility in Arab, Alabama. Completed plans call for the construction of a 221,800-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility.

A. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following 1. The project for the new Arab High School. Is a completely new 2-story facility of 221,800 square feet located on an existing un-occupied site in the city of Arab, Alabama. The buildings are of structural steel with CMU walls, brick or metal panel veneer, aluminum storefront glazing, and cast stone detailing. The program includes a required storm shelter, classrooms, media center, cafeteria & kitchen, competition & practice gyms, support spaces for athletic programs, and an 800-seat auditorium. Site preparation includes earthwork, storm drainage, sanitary sewerage, retaining walls, and paving 2. The project will be bid with areas designated as bid alternates, including the Auditorium, Precision Machining Lab, & Multi-Purpose Gym. B. Type of Contract 1. Project will be constructed under coordinated; concurrent multiple contracts administered by a Construction Manager. Sealed proposals are invited for the New Arab High School from qualified bidders. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to the Arab City Board of Education, not less than five percent of the bid amount and not exceeding $10,000, must accompany each proposal. Performance and payment bonds, along with proof of insurance as outlined in the documents, are required upon signing the contract. Bid documents can be obtained electronically at no charge, or physical copies may be purchased and picked up at a designated location. Bid bonds must guarantee that the bidder will not withdraw for sixty days after the scheduled closing, will enter into a formal contract if awarded, and will otherwise forfeit the bond as liquidated damages. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the Architect or copies thereof. Bidders exceeding specified monetary amounts must be licensed as required by Alabama law and must display the license number on the sealed proposal envelope. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive technical errors if it serves their best interests. Nonresident bidders must include a legal opinion regarding their state's bid preference laws. Contract Award: April 16th 2026(Tentative) Construction Overall Timeframe: 700 Pre- Construction Conference / Begin work on site: a. May 15, 2026 (Tentative) The new RFI cutoff date for Bid Packages #3 - #9 is Tuesday April 21st.
