The work consists of City Funded Work and Federally and Provincially Funded Work. City Funded Work includes concrete pavement reconstruction and associated works on Charles Street from Sutherland Avenue to Jarvis Avenue; mill and fill and associated works on Jarvis Avenue from McPhillips Street to Parr Street; concrete pavement rehabilitation and associated works on Jarvis Avenue from Parr Street to Powers Street; construction of new 100mm concrete sidewalk and associated works on Sutherland Avenue from Robinson Street to Charles Street; pickup and installation of precast traffic calming curbs and polyposts at specified locations; and sewer repairs and associated works on Jarvis Avenue from McPhillips Street to Powers Street. Federally and Provincially Funded Work consists of concrete pavement reconstruction and associated works on Pembina Highway Alley from Pembina Highway to Dowker Street. The major components of the work include renewal and removal of existing sidewalks, pavement and curbs, planing of existing asphalt in intersections, excavation, compaction, installation and adjustment of manholes, catch basins, catch pits, sub-drains, sewer service pipe, insulation of water services, placement of geotextile fabric, sub-base and base course material, construction of various types of concrete pavement, curbs, pedestrian islands, raised concrete crosswalks, installation of detectable warning surface tiles, grading, placement of topsoil, MS1 asphalt overlay, and sod. Mill and Fill and Associated Works includes planing of existing asphalt, renewal and removal of concrete sidewalks, installation of warning tiles, concrete repairs, curb and sidewalk construction, grading, topsoil, and placement of asphalt overlays and sod. Concrete Pavement Rehabilitation and Associated Works consists of planing asphalt, renewal of sidewalks, excavation, base material compaction, construction of sidewalks and curbs, tree stump grinding, grading, paving stones re-grading, installation of pavement repair fabric, placement of asphalt overlays, and sod. Construction of new 100mm concrete sidewalk and associated works includes excavation, compaction, base course material placement, curb renewal, grading, and sod placement. Pickup and installation of precast traffic calming curbs and polyposts involves material pickup, pavement sweeping, installation of curbs and polyposts, sign base plates, dowels, and hole sealing. Sewer repairs consist of pre- and post-construction video inspection, point repair of sewer main, manhole and catch basin repairs, riser replacement, manhole removal and replacement, and installation of new manholes and connections to existing sewers.
