Lincoln County Address: 225 West Olive Street, Newport, Oregon 97365, 541-265- 6611 Project Description and Background Lincoln County Commons, "Home of Lincoln County Fair," has been an important gathering place for community events and celebrations in Lincoln County for more than 100 years. In addition to the Fair, the Commons is home to many other public and private events throughout the year. The County's vision is for the Commons to continue its role as an important gathering place that offers a variety of venues that serve county residents and attract new activities and opportunities. The purpose of the proposed construction at Lincoln County Commons is to improve existing facilities, design and add new buildings and other ancillary facilities to better use the space, and develop a management and operations plan that will sustain the Commons over time. We want to see the space as something that can be used yearround for a wide variety of events and community activities. Vision and Mission Statement: o Our vision is to see Lincoln County Commons (formerly Lincoln County Fairgrounds) become an important gathering place for Lincoln County. o Our mission is to offer a variety of venues which will make Lincoln County Commons a preferred destination for residents and visitors. o Our core values are to respect traditions of the past and cast new directions for the future with a focus on youth. o Our strategic areas of focus for Lincoln County Commons are the activities contemplated in the ORS 565.230: Lincoln County Commons shall "be utilized to the fullest extent for pleasure, recreation and public benefit and for the holding of any exhibitions, shows, carnivals, circuses, dances, entertainments or public gatherings." o Our strategic goals are to facilitate the development of venues to realize our strategic areas of focus.
