All work shall be performed in strict compliance with the plans and specifications prepared by the Assistant City Engineer and in accordance with the latest City of Mason City Standard Specifications and the Iowa Department of Transportation, Standard Specifications for Highway and Bridge Construction. Each bid must be completed on the Proposal Form provided by the City, sealed in a specified envelope, and accompanied by a bidding check or bid bond equal to at least ten percent of the bid price as security for contract execution. Payment will be made from available city funds, with monthly estimates paid at ninety-seven percent, and no payment for materials stored off or on site. Final payment is no sooner than thirty days following final acceptance by the City. Bids cannot be withdrawn for forty-five days after opening. Preference is given to products and provisions grown or produced within Iowa, and the Iowa Bidding Preference Law applies for out-of-state bidders.
