Renovation of an industrial development in Sumter, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a industrial development.

Specifications for overhead doors for an automotive maintenance shop. Automotive maintenance shop overhead doors shall be industrial standard overhead doors that will handle heavy use and provide for the necessary vehicle clearances. There are a total of fourteen (14) overhead doors to be replaced at the Sumter County Automotive maintenance shop located at 1289 North Main Street. Eight (8) of the overhead doors are 12 ft wide and 14 ft high. Five (5) of the overhead doors are 12 ft wide and 12 ft high. One (1) overhead door is 18 ft wide and 14 ft high. The contractor shall take accurate measurements for width, height, and headroom, ensuring there are no obstructions to door operation. Doors shall be The Overhead Door Company Model 426 sectional steel door or an approved equal, in white. Doors must meet the American National Standard Specifications for Sectional Overhead Type Doors, with wiring connections at 115/120-volt single phase, 60hz. There shall be a single source responsibility for doors, tracks, motors, and accessories from one manufacturer for each type of door. Submittals required include manufacturer's data sheets, preparation instructions, storage and handling requirements, installation methods, and shop drawings. Manufacturer's Certificates certifying products meet or exceed requirements and Operation and Maintenance manuals are also required. The manufacturer must have a minimum of five years' experience. Installer must be an authorized representative of the manufacturer with a minimum of five years' documented experience. Electrical connection must be UL listed. Products must be stored in original packaging and protected from moisture until installation, in a dry, ventilated weathertight location. The County and contractor will hold a pre-installation conference just prior to beginning field operations. The specified manufacturer is Overhead Door Company or an approved equivalent. Insulated Steel Sectional Overhead Doors, Model 426, must have insulated steel door assembly with rabbeted meeting rails, 2-inch panel thickness, ribbed exterior, and specified gauges. Spring counterbalance, polystyrene insulation (R-value 7.35), partial glazing of steel panels with a minimum of three or four insulated glass lights per door, two coat baked-on enamel finish, white inside and out. Doors shall meet local wind load code, have galvanized steel hardware, ball bearing rollers, and an interior-mounted slide lock with interlock switch. Weather stripping required is flexible bulb-type, jamb, and header seals. Tracks must suit loading and clearances, bidders must visit the site to determine track size and lift. Each door must have UL listed electric motor operation, meeting current UL requirements for safety, with push-button and key operated controls. Special operations may include additional control options and safety features as specified. All openings must be properly prepared for receiving new doors and correct power verified at each opening. Doors and tracks must be installed per shop drawings and manufacturer's instructions, anchored to structural members only, and fully adjusted for proper weather stripping contact. Temporary labels to be removed, warranty and maintenance labels retained. Contractor must disassemble and place old overhead door panels, tracks, and metal parts in a trailer or truck provided by the County. The County will provide an electrical permit and will need the assistance of the electrician for the permit application. Questions concerning this bid package must be in writing and shall be directed to Robert E. Galloway, Jr., Office of the Purchasing Agent, 13 East Canal Street, Sumter, SC 29150. All correspondence must be received no later than Monday, March 16, 2026 at the close of business.
