Sealed bids are requested for Airport Improvements at the Knox County Regional Airport to include the reconstruction of approximately 8,900 square yards of the terminal apron (Phase 2) and the rehabilitation of the terminal apron (12,800 SY Base Bid and 5,700 SY Alternate 1). Bid security of at least five percent of the total bid must be provided, either as a certified check or a proposal guaranty bond from a surety authorized to do business in Maine. The successful bidder is required to furnish a 100 percent Performance Bond and a 100 percent Labor and Materials Payment Bond and must begin contract execution within five calendar days after the Notice to Proceed. The project is funded by a Federal Grant through the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) and must adhere to all U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and Maine Department of Transportation regulations. Federal contract requirements included are Buy American Preferences, Civil Rights - Title VI Assurances, Davis-Bacon Act, Debarment and Suspension, Lobbying Federal Employees, Recovered Materials, and compliance with minimum wage standards set by the U.S. Department of Labor.
