The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. A Bid Bond is NOT required for contracts of $100,000 or less. DESCRIPTION OF THE WORK - Work under this Contract includes all necessary labor, materials and equipment required to: Rehabilitate of the Ardsley Road Bridges over the Bronx River and the Bronx River Parkway. The anticipated work involves rehabilitation of the existing bridge structures. The existing structures consist of a reinforced concrete arches with stone façade and earth fill supporting the roadway. The proposed rehabilitation includes concrete repairs to the underside of the concrete arches, repointing of the stone facades, excavation of the earth fill, waterproofing of the arch extrados. The new roadway with moment slabs, and sidewalks rested on the lightweight lean concrete fill will be installed once the arch is waterproofed. New guiderails will be installed to protect the traffic and stone parapets. The staircase on the south side will be closed to the public by installing a gate at the bottom of steps. The existing water main will be replaced by others. The proposed rehabilitation will ensure a safe and convenient crossing over the Bronx River by eliminating structural deficiencies and meeting current design standards. Unless otherwise stated, on building construction work, bidders are free and encouraged to examine the work site during normal work hours preceding the date on which bids are to be opened. For those bidders requesting further clarification of the conditions, an appointment with the County's representative, on the eighth day (Tuesday) prior to the bid opening date, can be requested, by contacting the, Department of Public Works, Division of Engineering at (914) 995-2553. Pursuant to Chapter 308 of the Laws of the County of Westchester, it is the goal of the County to use its best efforts to encourage, promote, and increase the participation of business enterprises owned and controlled by persons of color or women - Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women Business Enterprise (WBE).
