Walker County, Georgia is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to perform roadway safety improvements funded through the Georgia DOT Local Maintenance & Improvement Grant (LMIG) Safety Action Plan. The project includes installation of traffic signage, pavement striping, raised pavement markers, and shoulder improvements. Sealed proposals will be received at the office of Joe Legge, Walker County Government, 101 S Duke St., LaFayette, GA 30728. Walker County Government reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals, to waive formalities, technicalities or irregularities and to re-advertise if necessary. SCOPE OF SERVICES: The following are the specifications requested for this project. 1.1 Traffic Sign Installation • Furnish and install regulatory, warning, and guide signs • Sign posts and mounting hardware • Removal and replacement of damaged or outdated signs • Installation in accordance with MUTCD standards 1.2 Pavement Markings • Thermoplastic striping • Centerlines • Edge lines • Stop bars • Crosswalks (where applicable) 1.3 Raised Pavement Markers • Supply and install reflective RPMs • Placement in accordance with GDOT specifications 1.4 Shoulder Improvements • Shoulder grading and shaping • Gravel or aggregate shoulder construction • Stabilization and compaction • Drainage adjustments where necessary Inquiries regarding this project and the bidding process should be sent by email to: c.bowers@walkerga.us.
