The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is seeking bids from qualified contractors for site improvements on Maud Road in Palmer, Alaska. The scope of work includes site clearing, grubbing, installation of a street ditch culvert, and water well installation. Questions or requests for clarification directed to any other member of the Borough staff or consultants may be grounds for rejection of proposal as being irregular. Questions Due Date: Apr 2nd 2026, 5:00 PM AKDT The project scope includes clearing a 30-foot by 100-foot access corridor, installing a new culvert across the east side of the South Ingolf ditch, drilling a shallow well, and performing testing of the completed well. The site is located approximately 1,000 feet south of the Maud Road and South Ingolf Street intersection, on the east side of the road, adjacent to a grass private airplane landing field. Please refer to the project specifications for further details. The Contractor shall understand that this work includes but is not limited to the following: _ Obtain all building permits including the Driveway Permit with the Borough. _ Obtain DEC water well permit. _ Install a road ditch culvert. _ Clear the trees for an area 100 feet deep going East measured from the road edge and 30 feet wide. _ Cut down and remove the cottonwood trees off site. _ Cut down the birch trees with all trees over 5" in diameter at a 6 foot height stack on the property line for firewood salvage. _ The well location will be marked for the driller once the lot is cleared the clearing limits will be marked. _ The anticipated well depths in the area are shallow and will require patience to get just under the hard pan.
